FILMS

The war at home

Documentary film about the anti-war movement in Madison, Wisconsin during the Vietnam War. It combines archival footage and interviews that explore the events of the period on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus.

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Our take: this film gives the viewer a very authentic view of the anti Vietnam war movement in its early days.

hearts and minds

1974 documentary film about the Vietnam Wardirected by Peter Davis. The film's title is based on a quote from President Lyndon B. Johnson: "the ultimate victory will depend on the hearts and minds of the people who actually live out there". It won the Oscar for Best Documentary at the 47th Academy Awards in 1975.

Our take: this is a heartbreaking film denouncing the war. The on-the-ground scenes are simply incredible.

until they’re gone

An affecting documentary about the heroic efforts to remove landmines left over from decades of war overseas and the carnage they inflict to this day.

Our take: we met Bill Morse in Cambodia in 2016. He leads the Landmine Relief Fund and has agreed to participate in our film. We will filming in Cambodia in the fall of 2025. Meanwhile, you can learn more about their incredible life-saving initiative and through this film.

war no more

by David Swanson

“This book presents what numerous reviewers have called the best existing argument for the abolition of war, demonstating that war can be ended, war should be ended, war is not ending on its own, and that we must end war.”

Our take: a powerful combination of history, economics, philosophy and heart that creates a compelling argument for the end of war.

War By Other Means: The Pacifists of the Greatest Generation Who Revolutionized Resistance

by Daniel Akst

Pacifists who fought against the Second World War faced insurmountable odds—but their resistance, philosophy, and strategies fostered a tradition of activism that shaped America right up to the present day.

Our take: WWII is considered by most the perfect example of “just war.” Yet, this group of pacifists had a different view which was to become a foundation for the future of war resistance.
